The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) was founded in the year of the Lord 1913 through the efforts of the Sudan United Mission (SUM) Danish Branch with Dr Niels Bronnum been the pioneering missionary. The church has its headquarters in Numan, Adamawa State, in the North-Eastern region of Nigeria. The current Archbishop is the Most Revd Musa Panti Filibus PhD, OFR.
Today LCCN has a population of over 2.5million members in 2041 congregations, 456 Districts, 76 Divisions and Nine Dioceses. The LCCN is led by an Archbishop and is further divided into nine dioceses, each led by a bishop. There are 9 serving bishops, 470 serving ordained clergy, 250 missionaries and over 700 clergy assistants (Catechists and Interns).

STRUCTURE

The LCCN is registered with and participates fully with the following ecumenical bodies

The LCCN is also actively involved in Interfaith dialogues, Peace and Conflict Resolutions Actions, Climate Justice, Gender and Social Justice Activities, Economic Empowerment Projects, as well as Sunday School Education

- 113 educational institutions including Bronnum Lutheran Seminary Yola, an educational institution that provides theological and religious training to Nigerian and international students.
- 19 medical institutions including LCCN Medical Centre Demsa, a facility that is proposed to be Teaching Hospital for the Lutheran University Nigeria.
